Episode 126: The Magic of Spells, Hexes, and Curses

This week’s episode covers the complex and mostly misunderstood aspects of spells, hexes, and curses and looks at their core differences. We discuss the idea of whereas spells are strong willpower aimed at shaping the world, hexes are deliberate magical assault, and curses are longer-term forms of harm, usually associated with ritual practice. We also briefly address the ethical impact of such practices by highlighting the significance of intent and respect within the magical process. We then go on to discuss some of the psychological and spiritual reasons behind these practices, pointing out the reality that even those activities appearing most innocuous to us have decidedly extreme consequences. Lastly, we attempt to provide a deeper understanding of where intention and energy converge in the broader canvas of existence, and we encourage listeners to approach these issues with respect and vigilance.
