Holiday Rewind Episode 42: Elves of Iceland

4 Ever Paranormal is taking a short holiday break, but the dark never sleeps. We’ll be back on January 7th, 2026 with new stories and new things we probably shouldn’t have found. Until then, keep a light in the window, stay close to those who steady you, and have the best of holidays. We’ll see you on January 7th.

In this Holiday rewind, 4ever Paranormal presents an inquiry dealing with the fascinating and mysterious subject of elves. The Alfar or hidden folk of Iceland have a great deal of the population of Iceland believing in their existence. The discussion explores cultural ties and folklore, long-standing between Norse and Celtic mythology relating to elves. Dr. Bill and Deb share some interesting anecdotes (that peculiar news story about a bomb scare that turned out to be an adult diaper) throwing more than a little humor into the conversation as they discuss different aspects related to elf lore. They move on to discuss customs and beliefs that play a part in construction projects within Iceland, where roads are diverted so very many times so as not to disturb the dwellings of elves. This episode does not only bring to light the merry tales of the Yule lads but also raises pertinent questions about where folktales end and modern beliefs begin, thus making an interesting study of Icelandic culture and its supernatural elements.
