Who is the mother of witches and why does that title mean such different things across traditions? We will look at Hekate and Aradia, not as competitors, but as figures through which very different types of power can be understood. Hekate has authority over thresholds and liminal space, while Aradia shows up as we’ll learn later-much more like a teacher whose knowledge is passed down in the act of human struggle. Rather than picking a winner between them, this episode slows the conversation down to ask why that same word “mother” continues to be used so differently across witchcraft lore.
