In 1941 near Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a minister was called to pray over victims of what was believed to be a plane crash. According to the story later told by his family, the wreckage was not an airplane and the bodies were not human. A local newspaper photographer was reportedly there and may have taken a photograph before the military arrived and the scene went silent. The image was never published, and the story remained hidden for decades, becoming one of the most intriguing UFO crash legends said to predate Roswell.
