Episode 163: The Alicia Maxey Attack-Was it a Dogman?

Something attacked a woman in rural Oklahoma, and even now, no one can say exactly what it was.

Alicia Maxey was found mauled. Not just injured, not just shaken up, but taken apart in a way that made experienced investigators stop and question what they were looking at. She reported hearing a deep growl right before it hit her. Described it as dog-like, but not clearly a dog. That detail doesn’t go away.

Authorities have looked at the usual explanations of a bear, mountain lion or even possibly a dog. DNA was taken and the test results are still pending, and until that comes back, the case sits in that uncomfortable space where nothing fully fits.

In this episode, we stay with what actually happened. The attack. The injuries. The lack of a clear answer. And the growing sense that this isn’t as clean as it should be.

Because sometimes it’s not about proving what something is.

It’s about the moment when no one can confidently say what it isn’t.
